![]() Using hacks which let you see in the dark all the time makes the game easier, therefore it is cheating. ![]() I consider this cheating, because the game has an item called potion of night vision, which lets you see in the dark, except it is a consumable resource and is not meant to last forever. Another instance of this is hacks which let you see in the dark all the time. On the other hand, freecam and xray could be considered cheating since they make something that was already in the game easier. ![]() A lot of hacked clients can do things that you couldn't do whatsoever in vanilla Minecraft, such as flying as if in creative, running fast while bridging, using building templates, hitting all enemies around you at the same time, etc. I guess what makes these things borderline not cheating is the fact that they replicate things you could already do in minecraft. It's more clunky than having a keybind to activate x-ray, but it works. Then again, you can already virtually use x-ray in vanilla minecraft, with a texture pack. Especially because it can be used to find rare underground structures including ores like diamonds and netherrite. On one hand, it could be considered cheating because it's a client sided hack which is used to make the game easier. The same could be said of x-ray, although I don't see as many technical players using it. It's more clunky than having a keybind for freecam, but it works. ![]() All you have to do is kill them, and they turn to spectator mode, allowing them to phase underground and find things for you. If you play on a hardcore server and buy a second account for $20, you can use that second account as your freecam. Then again, you can virtually already use freecam in vanilla minecraft, under certain circumstances. Especially because it can be used to find rare underground structures. I'm thinking about whether it could be considered cheating or not. I see a lot of technical players using freecam. There are some client-side hacks which can reduce this tedium. I quickly get bored playing vanilla, due to certain tedious tasks. I'm thinking a lot about what the "best" way to play the game is.
